My wife and I really needed somewhere to eat and lucked upon this place. Out Garmin did not have the steakhouse listed and we found it looking for a pizza place. We got lucky because we are in an area that is lacking many places to eat and headed to a town with 2 real restaurants a Subway and a gas station that makes sandwiches (like Subway only better). The gas station has pizza and other fried items as well. Knowing we would be in this area for 4 days we wanted to eat somewhere besides these offerings we will be. The Steakhouse: First the good: The place was very chill with fun music playing. The staff was friendly. We didn't have to wait at all for a table at prime time Friday night. The Bad: We didn't have to wait for a table as we were the only folks there. Usually a bad sign but as I stated, we were desperate. The floor had French Fries, small pieces of paper and other food particles on it. (It seemed to me they had not cleaned the floor since lunch and being a chef for 14 years that is unacceptable. If the place is empty the staff should be doing something.) The Food: We ordered an app of Crab and Spinach Dip served with Tortilla Chips. This was not bad but not good. Wouldn't order again. It could have been made into something good but it didn't seen to have had much effort out into it. My wife had a Steak, Baked Potato and a salad. Her steak was cooked to a good medium as ordered. The potatoes were cooked properly. The beef here is "grass fed" so the taste is different than what some folks are used to. The steak was good. The salad was your standard "house salad" and adequate. I had the Special of Prime Rib a Baked Potato and a Salad. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly and the au jus was flavorful. The Shrimp were sautéed and were on but not great. One more bad thing. The Prime Rib was usually $23.99 for the big one. The special was $23.99 with a small Prime Rib. I upgraded the special to the large Prime Rib. When the bill came, my PR Special was $31.99. So basically I paid $8 for 4 not so good Shrimp. This was not right but I didn't want to get into it. I read the entire menu thinking I would be back during my stay in the area but I don't think I will be back although the burgers sounded good and they were priced right. Try it for lunch sometime and let me know how it was.
